Masanobu will be providing produce from his own organic farm to prepare a multi-course, vegan, raw-plant based meal to share with guests. The workshop is free and open to all and will take place on Weds, September 26 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Please call the Beth Wright Cancer Resource Center to register or with questions at 207-664-0339.
Masanobu and his wife, Tomoko have been farming on Mount Desert Island to sustain their own vegan lifestyle for many years. Last year, the couple performed an “un-cooking” demonstration at the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association’s Common Ground Fair in Unity, where they prepared several dishes and talked about how eating a raw-foods diet has been a “life-changing experience” for them.
Aside from his self-sustaining farming, Masanobu has had a busy music career as a concert pianist. He is the founder of the Arcady Music Festival and the New York Ragtime Orchestra.
