Music to Spark Memory and Joy: A Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center/Dempsey Center collaborative virtual program
May 15 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Learn about the effect of music on the brain, and the relationship between music and the expression of emotions. On Monday, May 15 from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon, join us for an online presentation of the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center and the Dempsey Center that examines music as a useful tool in your self-care toolbox. Science shows how music can unlock important memories, spark joy, ease stress, reduce anxiety, depression, fatigue and connect to loved ones. Join us to explore popular songs and beats from around the world together. Led by Sarah Kelley, we will provide guided questions to help you create a custom playlist to use whenever you need joy, reminiscence, connection, calming, or motivation. Participants may share what music has meant to them and connect to the way song and melody live within all of us.
Clients of Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center will be able to access select programs within the Ellsworth Center or virtually from the comfort of their own home. These telecast classes will allow clients access to high-quality program and encourage connection between those who have been impacted by cancer. As with all Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center services, these telecast programs will be provided at no cost. This program is possible thanks to the support of Jane’s Trust, a charitable foundation located in Boston, MA, and Hannaford Foundation.
