Mindfulness Pratice: Tools for Well Being with Jen Harry
February 17 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pmFree
Mindfulness: Tools for Well Being is a mindfulness practice monthly series led by Jen Harry. The group meets on the 3rd Friday of the month from 10:30 pm -12:00 pm join person or on Zoom. You can join either way.
The goal of the group is to build a toolbox of techniques to help navigate life’s challenges and enhance each person’s level of well-being so that all can flourish in life. There are a lot of tools, techniques, and practices that can be used to influence one’s own well-being and health.
Every meeting includes information on the science & research behind the practices. Jen presents different techniques that are drawn from many different areas including Mindfulness, Stress Reduction, Brain Science, & Positive Psychology, with an emphasis on finding ways to use these tools in everyday life. Topics covered include stress transformation, dealing with challenging emotions, and simple mindfulness practices, to name just a few. An added benefit is that each session starts with a short Relaxation Meditation that allows participants to step back from their troubles, and daily routine, giving time to just “be” for a moment.
Jen Harry studied Psychology at Penn State as an undergraduate and has worked in the mental health field in various capacities over the past 20 years. She furthered her studies and certification in the Methods of Japanese Psychology, training in Mind-Body Techniques to reduce stress, and most recently, certification in Applied Positive Psychology (the science of human flourishing & optimal functioning) as well as a Resiliency Trainer.
