Look Good Feel Better Session
September 17 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pmFree
Ellsworth, Maine—A cancer diagnosis will stop you in your tracks. The first thoughts that may race through your mind – what will happen to me – what about my family – will I survive – do I need chemo and radiation and the list goes on. Once these thoughts settle down, you may suddenly think, will I lose my hair? Often this is one of the most devastating issues patients face.Fortunately, the Look Good Feel Better Foundation has been helping folks since 1989 to feel better by offering some needed pampering and expertise to help them to look their best during and after treatment, which directly relates to feeling better.
Look Good Feel Better is a non-medical, brand-neutral public service program that teaches beauty techniques to people with cancer to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. The program includes lessons on skin and nail care, cosmetics, wigs and turbans, accessories and styling, helping people with cancer to find some normalcy in a life that is by no means normal. Each participant receives a free make-up kit to use during and after the workshop.
The Beth Wright Cancer Resource Center will be offering a free Look Good Feel Better session on Monday, September 17, 2018 from 10:00 to 12:00 noon, at the Center at 23 Commerce Park in Ellsworth. Our volunteer beauty professional is trained and certified by the Look Good Feel Better Foundation and the American Cancer Society.
The program is open to all women with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other forms of treatment. Please register by Monday, August 27, 2018 by calling 207-664-0339
