October 3 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center is collaborating with the Dempsey Center to bring another new program to the Ellsworth and downeast communities ~ In A Fog: Chemo Brain Q+A
Have you noticed a decrease in mental “sharpness” while undergoing treatment? If you are unable to remember certain things, have trouble finishing tasks, difficulty concentrating, or learning new skills, you may have “chemo brain.” This informational session breaks down the characteristics of chemo brain, as well as strategies to help manage symptoms. On Monday, October 3, 10:30 am to 11:30 am, Mackenna Murtagh, PsyD, Neuropsychology Post-doctoral Fellow for Goodwill Northern New England NeuroRehab Services leads this workshop which is free and open to all Dempsey Center & Beth Wright clients.
Navigating a cancer diagnosis is difficult in and of itself but finding support and connecting with those who understand adds another layer of challenges, especially when living in a rural area. To help ease the journey through a cancer diagnosis for those living in Central Maine, the Dempsey Center has partnered with Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center to bring their services to the Ellsworth area. Using the Dempsey Connects virtual platform, clients of Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center will be able to access select programs virtually from the comfort of their own home or at the Beth Wright Center if they do not have access to computer technology. These telecasted classes will allow clients across the state access high-quality programs and encourage connection between those who have been impacted by cancer. As with all Dempsey Center and Beth C. Wright services, these telecasted programs will be provided at no cost.
This program is possible thanks to the support of Jane’s Trust, a charitable foundation located in Boston, MA, and Hannaford Foundation.
