Fatigue Factor – A Dempsey – Beth Wright Collaborative

Navigating a cancer diagnosis is difficult in and of itself but finding support and connecting with those who understand adds another layer of challenges, especially when living in a rural area. To help ease the journey through a cancer diagnosis for those living in Eastern and Central Maine, the Dempsey Center has partnered with the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center to bring their services to the Ellsworth area.

The third offering in the 2022 Spring collaborative is ‘Fatigue Factor’ a two-part series. Fatigue is a common and troublesome side effect of cancer and its treatment. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to recognize cancer-related fatigue and explore strategies to conserve and maximize your energy and discover strategies to help you communicate about your fatigue and where to find resources.

The classes will take place on Wednesday, May 11th, and June 8th from 10:30 am – 12 noon on Zoom and can be viewed from the comfort of your own home or in the Activity Room at the Beth Wright Center if you do not have access to Zoom at home.

Using the Dempsey Connects virtual platform, clients of Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center will be able to access select programs on a large screen at the Center in Ellsworth, or virtually from the comfort of their own home. These telecasted classes will allow clients across the state access high-quality program and encourage connection between those who have been impacted by cancer. The 4-week cooking class series will be held in-person only at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center to participate telecast. Attendees of all classes are required to wear masks regardless of COVID vaccination status and follow distancing guidelines while in the building.

As with all Dempsey Center and Beth C. Wright services, these telecasted programs will be provided at no cost. This program is possible thanks to the support of Jane’s Trust, a charitable foundation located in Boston, MA, and Hannaford Foundation.
