Eating For Energy with Kelly Falone, RDN, LD
September 14 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Fatigue is a common side effect of treatment and many diagnoses. Preparing and eating certain foods are just one natural way to help combat this side effect. Join us on September 14 at 10:30 am to 12 noon, to learn nutrition strategies to improve energy levels, create some easy meals, and discover quick snack options. Led by Kelly Falone, RDN, LD. This workshop focuses on nutritional needs of cancer patients and is open to those with a cancer diagnosis and their care partners. There will be time for questions and tasting samples as volunteer Cathy Flesh cooks along in the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center kitchen.
Navigating a cancer diagnosis is difficult in and of itself but finding support and connecting with those who understand adds another layer of challenges, especially when living in a rural area. To help ease the journey through a cancer diagnosis, the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center collaborates with the Dempsey Center, a renowned provider of cancer support services in Lewiston and South Portland, to bring a selection of holistic cancer support programs to Hancock and Washington Counties. This program will be viewed on a high-quality digital “television screen” with a built-in camera so that attendees at the Center will be able watch and interact with the presenter in real-time.
As with all Dempsey Center and Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center services, this program is provided at no cost. Individuals may attend this program in-person at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center. Be prepared to wear a mask and abide by protocols to reduce COVID spread.
This program is possible thanks to the support of Jane’s Trust, a charitable foundation located in Boston, MA, and Hannaford Foundation.
