We are excited to announce the date for the annual Beth C. Wright Walk for Life. We invite you to join us on Saturday, May 18, 2024, to take part in this event.
Last year, the walk was very successful in raising money for the Center. These funds are used to help run the various programs the center offers to cancer patients and their loved ones.
This year we will have our traditional 1-mile, 2-mile, and 5-mile walking route options, which also has a pledge page that you can use to sign up friends, family, and neighbors to help support your team. We are once again holding a “5 miler” road race. This race will take place along the traditional route of the walk and take place after the opening ceremony, with runners starting just before the walkers. We also plan on having our usual activities including a chance auction, craft fair, children’s activities, and BBQ lunch.
You’ll post your race pictures (and running time from your device if you want) on our Facebook page or email to [email protected]
We are offering several options if you’d like to fundraise or donate. We encourage you to register as an individual or form a team and raise as much as you can.
All Walker/Runners will get a 2024 WALK FOR LIFE T-shirt with a donation of $25.00 or more.
If you would like to register with our paper pledge forms or 5 mile race registration, have any questions, or need any help, please feel free to call us here at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center at 207-664-0339, or email us at [email protected].
Please join us as we raise funds to support the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center’s mission: which provides scholarships and funding to support enrichment programs and activities for Hancock and Washington County Cancer Patients. Contributions are tax deductible and additional donations are appreciated. support our cancer community!
The annual Walk For Life brings together people of all ages from Hancock and Washington Counties, who believe that the free programs and services offered by the Beth Wright Cancer Resource Center are vitally needed. This year’s Walk we are celebrating the 24th anniversary of the event that was started in memory of Beth Charczynski Wright, founded this organization before her death at age 28. On the other hand, we didn’t want this year to pass without recognizing and celebrating this important milestone.
We hope that you will again be able to participate in and support the Walk, our biggest fundraiser, to the best of your ability. A successful Walk is needed to bring in the funds necessary to ensure that our programs and services are offered at no cost to people living with cancer in Washington and Hancock Counties.
