Addison and Ellsworth, Maine – The 19th Annual Beth C. Wright Walk For Life is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Addison. This year brings a new and exciting addition to the annual event – an Ellsworth Walk organized in conjunction with the Pink Tulip Project and the Ellsworth Garden Club Plant sale.
The Ellsworth Walk will take place on the same date and time of the Addison Walk and will allow those who cannot get to Addison to still participate in the event. Both Walk locations will have opening ceremonies, activities, music, and food. Michael Reisman, Executive Director of the Beth C. Wright Center, said, “We are really excited to be able to offer The Walk in Ellsworth now too, allowing people living in and around Ellsworth to participate.”
The Walk For Life has been a major fundraiser that has helped enable the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center to offer the many free programs and services it does to fulfill its mission of offering hope, support, and knowledge to cancer patients, their families and caregivers throughout the entire cancer journey.
Reisman said, “Our goal this year is to have 350 people participating in the Walks in Addison and Ellsworth. We have set a fundraising target of $35,000.00. One of our most important programs is the Washington County Cancer Patient Navigation Program, a great collaboration with Healthy Acadia. This program is vital for patients in rural Washington County.”
