Genomics, Targeted-Agents and Immunotherapy Explained
Machias, Maine–The date is set for the 11th Annual Washington County Cancer Conference in Machias. On Friday, October 12, 2018 from 9 am to 3 pm, the Lee-Pellon Center in Machias will be alive with the sounds of cancer survivors, caregivers, family and friends gathering to learn about the most cutting-edge cancer treatments and much more. Dr. Philip Brooks, MD oncologist of EMMC Cancer Care will be the featured speaker and his talk is entitled “Transforming the Way We Treat Cancer”. He will explain how genomics, targeted agents and immunotherapy are advancing cancer treatment.
Attendees will also hear from Keynote speaker, Jana Richards, with her talk entitled “My Unexpected Path at age 18, A Cancer Diagnosis” as she discusses her cancer experience and life beyond. The conference is free and also will offer a patient/caregiver panel, a wellness panel and a complimentary lunch. Area vendors will be on hand displaying the resources that they offer. Registration begins at 8 am and the Lee-Pellon Center is located at 90 Main St, Machias, ME.
