19th Annual Beth C. Wright Walk For Life Gains Platinum Sponsor
Mark Wright Disposal Donates $5,000
Ellsworth, Maine‑‑Despite the cold weather, things are warming up at the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center in Ellsworth as the staff and volunteers prepare for a year of health-focused, informative, and exciting community activities and events. To warm things up even more, Mark Wright of Mark Wright Disposal in Columbia, Maine has made a considerable donation of $5,000 to the Center, making the company a Platinum sponsor for 2019.
The funds will provide sponsorship for the organization’s biggest annual events including the 19th Annual Walk for Life on May 18th. The other events include the Ride for Life in September, the Washington County Cancer Conference in October and the Downeast Living with Cancer Conference in November.
The 19th Annual Beth C. Wright Walk For Life, will kick off an action packed season and will take place on Saturday May 18 in Addison. This year there will be a new Walk in Ellsworth that will take place simultaneously and in conjunction with the Pink Tulip Project and the Ellsworth Garden Club Plant sale.
Executive Director, Michael Reisman said, “Our goal this year is to have 350 people participating in the Walks in Addison and Ellsworth. We have set a fundraising target of $35,000.00. The Walk For Life has been a major fundraiser that has helped enable the Center offer the many free programs and services to fulfill its mission of offering hope, support, and knowledge for cancer patients, their families and caregivers throughout the entire cancer journey. One of our most important programs is the Washington County Cancer Patient Navigation Program, a great collaboration with Healthy Acadia.”
