The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center in Ellsworth is offering a free workshop with local herbalist, Stephanie Tourles, entitled Herbal Remedies for Pain Relief.
On Thursday, September 7th, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the Beth Wright Center, Tourles will speak about natural remedies for the aches and pains that ail cancer patients and survivors, as well as the soreness that can trouble any body at any age. Tourles is an author, licensed holistic esthetician, herbalist, aromatherapist, and reflexologist now based in Orland.
During the Herbal Remedies workshop, she will discuss formulations from her popular book, Hands-On Healing Remedies. One copy of Hands-on Healing Remedies, as well as another of Tourles’s books, Raw Energy: 124 Raw Food Recipes for Energy Bars, Smoothies, and Other Snacks to Supercharge Your Body is available for anyone to borrow from the Beth Wright Center’s library at any time. Tourles will also offer signed copies of Hands-on Healing Remedies for sale at the event.
The workshop will include a lecture, hands-on experience with herbal remedies, a question-and-answer session, discussion, and a little field trip into the Center’s garden, where visitors are welcome to snip some healing herbs.
Tea, coffee, and a healthy vegetarian soup will be served. A free gentle yoga class will also be offered following the workshop (1 p.m. – 2 p.m.), which everyone is welcome to attend. Mats and props are provided in the yoga class.
