ONLINE RESOURCES

We’ve collected some of the best resources from the internet. These are only a starting point and cannot take the place of the attention and recommendations of your professional healthcare provider. However, learning about cancer and how others have dealt with the same challenges you’re facing can guide you in getting the help and support you need.

The Maine Cancer Resource Connection is a joint project of the Dempsey Center in Lewiston, the Cancer Community Center in South Portland and the Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center in Ellsworth.

These resources have been checked out and are reliable. However, if you are looking for information on the Internet beware of .com sites that are often selling something. Look for sites that end in .gov, .edu, or .org.

The Beth Wright Center in Ellsworth has a computer available for patient/family use and volunteers that can assist if needed. Computers are available at your local library.

You can also call us for information or contact the Maine Cancer Resource Connection at www.mainecancerresourceconnection.org/ or call Karen Page at Toll Free: 1-866-446-4865 or (207) 755-389

Testimonials

Thank you for all your help – the yoga, the reflexology in Blue Hill, and putting me in touch with Mary. I am in a much better space now facing the emotionally charged reality of breast cancer. The discovery that one can’t deal with it through denial was a big learning. I look forward to being back next summer.
